The Kremlin welcomed Count Sheremetyev's desire to move to Russia
Moscow welcomes Count Pierre Sheremetyev's desire to move to Russia. This was announced on Monday, July 14, by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
He also clarified that the authorities had received information from the Russian Foreign Ministry about the count's desire to move to his historical homeland.
"This is our compatriot's decision, and we can only welcome his wish," the Russian president's spokesman said at a briefing.
On July 12, the Russian Embassy in Paris sent a letter from Count Sheremetev to Moscow, in which he announced his intention to move to Russia. The diplomatic mission noted that Sheremetev had made a significant contribution to strengthening cultural cooperation between Russia and France. Since 1975, he has been the honorary Vice-president of the Franco-Russian Friendship Society.
