The Prosecutor's Office is investigating the circumstances of the missing Mi-8 helicopter in the Far East.

The Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office is establishing the circumstances of the loss of communication with the Mi-8 helicopter, which has five people on board. This was announced on July 14 in the press service of the department.

It is specified that the aircraft took off on the route Chumikan—Okhotsk—Magadan. After refueling in Okhotsk, the pilot did not get in touch.

"The Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office has organized a review of the implementation of flight safety legislation on this fact," the Telegram channel says.

The ministry added that the location of the helicopter has not been established. All the circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated.

Earlier that day, a source from Izvestia reported that the Mi-8 helicopter, carrying five people, had disappeared in the Far East. According to the source, three crew members and two technicians went on the flight. Searches are underway.
