Quarantine was introduced in a greenhouse complex near the village of Chastostrovskoye in the Yemelyanovsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The reason is the fixation of dangerous insects, the Western flower thrips.

Quarantine measures are also carried out on some land plots. In total, quarantine has been introduced on the territory of 90 hectares, the program for the localization of pest foci has been approved, according to KrasnoyarskMedia news agency, citing the Rosselkhoznadzor administration for the region.

The agency clarified that when exporting plant products from these areas, quarantine certificates will need to be issued.

The Rosselkhoznadzor said that western flower thrips is one of the most dangerous quarantine pests. It affects vegetable, ornamental and flower crops, destroys more than 300 types of crops, and is a carrier of dangerous diseases.

Earlier it was reported that from June 30, 2025, the import of seeds and planting materials of Dutch origin to Russia is prohibited. Measures have been taken to preserve phytosanitary well—being and maintain Russia's image as a reliable exporter, as well as to prevent the spread of quarantine facilities in the country," the Rosselkhoznadzor said in a statement. In June, three cases of infection with quarantine facilities were identified, namely midge and western (California) flower thrips.
