Traffic police to raid pedestrians in Moscow

The State Traffic Inspectorate of the city of Moscow announced the holding of a citywide preventive event "Pedestrian". The raid will last for one day and will take place on July 15, the press service of the department reported on the Telegram channel.

During the event, employees of the highway patrol service will monitor compliance with traffic regulations by both pedestrians and drivers.

"As part of the raid, traffic police will conduct information and explanatory work with children and adults on the rules of road safety when crossing the roadway, as well as norms of behavior in the residential area and in courtyards," the State Traffic Inspectorate said.

On July 5-6, the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate conducted a raid on "SIM. The cyclist." As a result of the event, traffic police stopped more than 5,000 traffic violations by people using personal mobility equipment and bicycles. Of these, 1,840 administrative materials were compiled in relation to couriers of delivery services, and 1,740 were compiled in relation to SIM users.

Earlier, on June 23, it was reported that in the first five months of 2025, the number of people killed in road accidents in Moscow decreased by 26% compared to the same period last year. So, in 2024, 120 people died on the capital's roads in January—May, and 89 people died this year.
