Brigitte, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, is appealing in court against the acquittal of journalist Natasha Ray, who accused the first lady of France of gender reassignment. This was reported by Franceinfo on July 14.

Earlier, Rey's lawyer Francois Danglean said that the journalist was preparing a lawsuit against Brigitte, her brother and lawyer for misleading the court. The lawyer added that he would require Brigitte Macron, her brother and their lawyer to attend the hearing in person.

In 2021, Rey accused the wife of the French president of having a sex change. According to Rey, Brigitte was born a man named Jean-Michel, and then changed her gender. The court of first instance found her guilty and ordered her to pay a fine of €500, as well as €8,000 in moral compensation to Brigitte Macron and €5,000 to her brother Jean—Michel Tronier.
