A group selling substandard medicines was detained in Moscow
In Moscow, the activities of a group whose members sold substandard medicines were suppressed. This was announced on July 14 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"The attackers illegally sold various medicines widely used for rapid weight loss, treatment of diabetes, epilepsy, cancer and other diseases," she wrote on the Telegram channel.
It is specified that the drugs were imported from abroad and posed a threat to life and health. The attackers were detained after law enforcement officers conducted a control purchase.
During the searches, the police found more than 100 packages of medicines that were stored with gross violations of the temperature regime. The investigators opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 238.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Circulation of falsified, substandard and unregistered medicines, medical devices and trafficking of falsified biologically active additives").
The defendants were given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and proper behavior, Volk added.
