- The mother of a student who won the Chemistry Olympiad in the UAE spoke about her emotions
The mother of a schoolboy who won gold at the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad in Dubai told Izvestia on July 14 that she was overjoyed to tears by her son's victory.
"When he told me that they had won and everything was fine, then, of course, it was a great joy. Joy with tears in his eyes, joy that everything is working out for him, that he is already an adult," Natalia Demidova said.
According to her, her son showed strong perseverance to achieve this victory. His mother repeatedly told the young man about rest, but he was not distracted by anything and spent all his free time preparing for the Chemistry Olympiad.
The only thing that hurt the woman was the absence of the Russian flag in the photo that her son sent her.
The day before, four Russian schoolchildren won gold medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad, which was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was noted that Fyodor Kuznetsov scored 86.7 points out of a possible 100, Viktor Demidov — 85.3, Vladimir Elistratov — 81.7, and Konstantin Gunko — 76.7.
