A case was opened in Yekaterinburg after chlorine poisoning in a thermal complex
A criminal case has been opened in Yekaterinburg after visitors were poisoned with chlorine at the Baden-Baden thermal complex. This was reported on July 14 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Sverdlovsk region.
"The investigative department for the Chkalovsky district of Yekaterinburg of the SU IC of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region has opened a criminal case on the possible poisoning of a number of citizens with chlorine vapors in the thermal complex," the department's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that responsibility for the incident is provided for under Article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of labor protection requirements").
The ministry clarified that investigative actions are currently being carried out to establish the causes of the incident, as well as expertise.
On July 12, 31 people were injured as a result of chlorine poisoning at the Baden-Baden thermal complex in Yekaterinburg. At the same time, 14 patients were hospitalized with poisoning of varying severity.
