A criminal case has been opened in Primorye over the torture of a 12-year-old teenager.

In Primorsky Krai, a court will consider a criminal case on the torture of a 12-year-old boy, who was physically abused by his parents for about six years. This was reported on July 14 in the press service of the prosecutor's office in the region.

According to the investigation, in the period from 2019 to 2025, the couple beat a 12-year-old teenager, as a result of which he received injuries in the form of broken ribs and burns.

Thus, a criminal case has been opened against the child's father under Part 2 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code ("Torture"), Part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code ("Intentional infliction of moderate harm to health"). At the same time, the minor's mother is charged under Part 2 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code and Article 156 of the Criminal Code ("Failure to fulfill the duties of raising a minor").

It is reported that the criminal case has been sent to the Sovetsky District Court of Vladivostok for consideration.

On June 27, it was reported that a resident of Adygea, who beat her three-year-old daughter to death, was sentenced to 13 years. According to the investigation, the girl's mother abandoned her immediately after birth, but in March 2024, she and her husband decided to take her away from an orphanage in Adygeysk.
