A woman and her daughter drowned while rescuing a 13-year-old child in the Moksha River in the Republic of Mordovia. This was announced on July 14 by the governor of the region, Artem Zdunov, in his Telegram channel.

"The Yudintsev family came to rest in Kovylkinsky district, to the bank of the Moksha River. While Dad was near the tent, mom and the kids decided to swim. When 13-year-old Alice began to drown, mother Natalia and her eldest daughter Anastasia rushed to help. They were rescued, but they couldn't get out on their own," the message says.

Zdunov said he would take control of the situation.

Earlier, on July 11, a teenager drowned in a quarry in the Sverdlovsk region. The Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the incident.
