Bicycles are a more popular form of transportation in North Korea than cars. The production of two-wheeled vehicles in the country has been established, but sometimes foreign models are purchased, a resident of the North Korean resort city of Wonsan told Izvestia.

"Bicycles are mostly locally made, although there are also Chinese ones — they are more expensive," said a local resident.

The Izvestia correspondent observed the life of the townspeople and found out that cyclists really prevail on the streets. Moreover, they move exclusively along sidewalks, but due to the sufficient width of the paths, pedestrians also walk quietly nearby. There are much fewer cars, and their movement is controlled by traffic controllers.

Buses look unusual in the DPRK. According to the correspondent, they are wooden structures with seats, but without a roof.
