- The crew of the T-80BVM tank of the Center group disrupted the rotation of the Armed Forces units
The crew of the T-80BVM tank of the mountain motorized rifle unit of the Center group of forces destroyed the temporary deployment and concentration point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area with fire from a closed firing position. This was announced on July 14 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is specified that the operators of the group's reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), having identified a large concentration of AFU personnel in one of the abandoned houses of the village, transmitted the coordinates of the target to the tankers. The servicemen quickly moved to the combat vehicle, aimed the gun at the target and destroyed the building with 125 mm high-explosive shells.
Shooting adjustments and monitoring of the destruction of identified enemy targets in real time were carried out by drone operators, which minimized the time required for accurate fire damage.
"Special attention has to be paid directly to the tank's camouflage, because this is probably 90% of the success of standing in position...> If the tank is in a camouflaged position, as soon as the command arrives, we have a certain period of time in which we need to reach the tank and open fire on the enemy directly. The sooner we do this, the more successful the result will be," said the tank's gunner, Rean Istomin.
This method of firing allows the tank to be used as an artillery installation, increases the range of the strike to 12 km and allows you to keep the tank hidden from enemy aerial reconnaissance.
Earlier, on July 13, BM-21 Grad crews attacked shelters and ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The strike was carried out on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in the area of the Karl Marx settlement.
