Thinking robots will talk to each other in human language
Skoltech employees have created a new operating system for thinking robots. These are machines equipped with artificial intelligence that can think and make independent decisions without human help. Such machines do not have a strictly prescribed program of action. They are able to adapt to an unfamiliar environment and perform universal actions. They can be assigned any task, and they will find ways to solve it themselves.
The software, written by Russian specialists, allows robots, united in one team to solve a common problem, to speak a simple human language. This feature allows the user to better control the actions of the machines and, if necessary, make adjustments to them. Right now, robots mostly exchange data with each other digitally via wi-fi.
"Such devices communicate in the same human language as we do. For example, the robot dog has a speaker, and the receiving robotic arm has a microphone. This is a universal system that will allow machines and people to coexist together and communicate conveniently," Professor Dmitry Teteryukov, head of the Skoltech Laboratory of Intelligent Space Robotics, told Izvestia.
The CognitiveOS operating system, with the ability to talk between robots in human language, can be installed on almost any type of device and combine several of them into one command.
For more information about the possibilities offered by the ability of machines to exchange information in natural language, see the Izvestia article:
We translate it into understandable language: robots will be taught to speak humanly to each other.
