- Rheinmetall intends to receive up to €50 billion from sales by 2030 at the expense of Ukraine
The German defense concern Rheinmetall intends to increase sales of its products to 40-50 billion euros by 2030. This was announced on July 13 by the head of the company Armin Papperger.
"Our goal is to increase revenue to 40-50 billion euros by 2030," he said in an interview with Bild newspaper.
The head noted that this would mean a 10-fold increase in sales compared to the figures for 2021. He stressed that the conflict in Ukraine was the driving force behind the growth in demand for the concern's products.
"We are currently negotiating the purchase of 6-7 thousand vehicles. They are designed to equip new brigades," Papperger said.
These include the Leopard 2 tank and the Puma and Boxer infantry fighting vehicles. Over the next 12 months, Rheinmetall may receive orders worth up to €70 billion from Germany alone.
In addition, the company is currently building 10 new plants, and also plans to almost double the number of employees — from 40 to 70 thousand people.
On April 17, Papperger announced that Rheinmetall would complete a shell manufacturing plant in Ukraine in 2026. According to him, instead of 200 thousand artillery shells, the company will be able to produce up to 350 thousand. The head of the concern clarified that about 600 million euros had been invested for such an increase.
