The governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, announced two deaths as a result of the shooting at the Baptist church on Richmond Road. He wrote about this on July 13 on the social network X.

"It is with a broken heart that I announce the shooting at the Baptist church on Richmond Road in Lexington, which claimed the lives of two people. <...> The shooter also died," the message said.

Beshir also confirmed that the rest of the injured, including the policeman, had been admitted to the nearest hospital and were receiving the necessary medical care.
