An acrobat was injured in the Great Moscow State Circus on Vernadsky Avenue due to an error by a specialist train driver who secures the performers during the performance of the numbers. This was announced on July 13 by the director of the circus, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Edgard Zapashny.

"When an artist performs a complex trick in several turns and lands with his feet on a safety mat, sometimes he continues to spin by inertia, and the task of the driver, who is in the arena for this, is to stop this rotation by substituting his own body," Zapashny wrote in his Telegram channel.

The circus director explained that in this situation, the driver made a mistake — he missed the right moment and did not insure the artist, which caused him to be injured.

Zapashny stressed that the circus doctor on duty was in the auditorium and immediately came to the aid of the victim.

The Bolshoi Moscow Circus clarified in its Telegram channel that the accident occurred during a swing act performed by artists from Ethiopia under the direction of Sosina Vogaehu. One of the acrobats landed unsuccessfully on the mat after the jump, fell off it and hit his head.

An acrobat at the Moscow circus landed unsuccessfully after jumping six meters high earlier in the day. According to the Izvestia source, the actor was diagnosed with a bruise and a fracture.
