At a meeting in Beijing, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed prospects for resolving the Ukrainian crisis. This was announced on July 13 in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry following their talks.

We discussed relations with the United States and prospects for resolving the Ukrainian crisis in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter in their entirety, totality and interrelation," the publication says.

In addition, the parties discussed the Iran-Israel conflict and the situation on the Korean peninsula. It is noted that the Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China confirmed mutual support for the protection of sovereignty, territorial integrity and state unity "in all its regional and ethnic diversity."

"The talks were held in a trusting and constructive manner typical of Russian-Chinese relations," the Russian Foreign Ministry added.

On July 4, the South China Morning Post reported on China's position on the Ukrainian conflict. It is noted that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, speaking with the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, pointed out the importance of Russia's victory in the Ukrainian conflict, since otherwise the US attention could be directed at Beijing.
