Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted, recalling his childhood years, that his parents had passed on the habit of turning off the lights everywhere in his home before going to bed.

"When I go to sleep, I turn off the lights everywhere. This is a habit from childhood from parents. My mom and dad, they went everywhere, turned off the lights," Putin said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, a VGTRK journalist, whose Telegram channel published an interview fragment on July 13.

The Head of State stressed that this habit will remain with him forever.

On this day, Putin confessed his desire to abandon the proposed presidency, which he expressed in a conversation with the first president of Russia, Boris Yeltsin, 25 years ago. According to him, Putin, having accepted the position, he thought first of all about the welfare of the country and solving the pressing tasks facing the Russian Federation.
