The article by the American portal Axios that Russia allegedly urged Iranian officials to conclude a nuclear deal with the United States on unfavorable terms is deliberate misinformation. This was announced on July 13 in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On July 12, Axios reported, citing unnamed sources, that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly told American leader Donald Trump and representatives of the Iranian authorities that he supported the option of a deal on the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), where it would not have the right to enrich uranium, and Moscow allegedly urged Tehran to conclude an agreement with Washington on the terms "zero enrichment".

One of the latest publications <...> is apparently another dirty politicized campaign that is being waged to escalate tensions around the Iranian nuclear program," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on the Telegram channel.

The ministry noted that Western media continue to demonstrate their essence, act as a tool in the hands of political elites and resort to targeted disinformation and direct provocations, generating fakes.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Russia's position on the Iranian nuclear program is well known to everyone.: The country constantly emphasizes the need to resolve the crisis over the program using only peaceful political and diplomatic means. In addition, Moscow has repeatedly expressed its willingness to help dialogue on the Tehran nuclear deal.

The Russian Ministry called on the world's media to delve deeply into the topics covered and rely on official sources of information, rather than replicating fakes.

On July 12, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced Tehran's readiness to return to U.S. negotiations on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program, although Iran has "strong doubts" that dialogue is possible. Tehran expects Washington to demonstrate sincere readiness for an equal agreement.
