The difficulties in relations between Russia and the United States are partly due to the fact that the elites in the United States do not know Russian history well. This was reported on July 13 by The American Conservative (AC) magazine.

"Some of Russia's difficulties may be related to the American elite's ignorance of its history and its sensitivity to real or perceived threats of foreign invasion," the publication notes.

It clarifies that Washington does not understand or recognize the history of Russia and the way of thinking in the country, which prevents it from concluding agreements with Moscow. As noted by "Gazeta.En", American leaders threatened to weaken or split Russia, which undermined trust between the countries.

Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on June 25 that there are many serious and multi-layered topics within the framework of consultations on eliminating irritants in bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington. He added that, despite some progress, the United States is not yet ready to abandon the obstacles created around the work of Russian diplomatic missions.
