Residents of the Orel region united to revive the traditions, family values and culture of their small homeland, and created a unique village that destroys all stereotypes. This was told by Ilya Anikeev, a correspondent of Izvestia.
The strongest and bravest came together in hand-to-hand combat. So, with fun and with fists, real men celebrate village day.
"There was no competitive moment here, it was more to test a good fellow's prowess," said competition judge Andrei Varyag.
Since returning to the roots and creating the infrastructure of the 21st century in the village, a new way of rural life is being formed in the Oryol countryside.
According to the correspondent, in a small village in the Orel region with the unusual name of Krivtsova-Raft, harmony has been established between urban amenities and a rustic atmosphere.
The Vernoselo project is a whole concept for the development of small settlements. It is convenient as in the city, calm and eco-friendly as in the countryside.
"Well, what is vernoselo? This is loyalty to the rural way of life, this is loyalty to the family, having many children, this is loyalty to the country, this is loyalty to Orthodoxy. Families from all over the Russian Federation are coming to us now," said Anatoly Yakunin, the author of the Vernoselo project.
A few years ago, people left Krivtsovo-Raft. After the start of landscaping, having seen improvements, the Grinev family decided to stay and signed a social contract for 300 thousand rubles for the development of agriculture.
"When I married Sergei, we wandered, then to the city, then out of the city, then back to the village, we could not decide. Over the past five years, when our village began to develop, there has not even been a desire to leave here," Olga Grineva shared.
The changes began with the opening of the rural sambo section. Schoolchildren play sports for free and achieve success at All-Russian competitions.
"We have developed athletics, sambo, and a hockey team here. Box. And all the disciplines that children want to study are supported, and conditions are being created for sports," said Andrey Okhota, the organizer of the competition.
The family is considered to be the basis of the vernosel. She is hardworking, prosperous and has many children. Such as the Booth family. They have a new addition soon, the fifth child will be born. A private house is being built for them in Krivtsovo-Plota for free.
"There will be a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, five bedrooms, plus a hallway. The veranda," Yulia Booth said.
At the same time, there are opportunities for the villagers to start their own commercial business. Oksana Bondar, a private entrepreneur, shared that the difficulty lies only in the lack of hands.
"Everything we do here is to attract new people who will come and live in our village, because we have jobs," she said.
In addition, vernosel has its own gastronomic brand— Cherry. Delicious jams, delicacies and even bread are made from berries.
"The villagers love their village, they are proud of their village. A bakery is being built, new jobs will be created, we have a sewing workshop, we have shops, we will have a cultural center, we will have a kindergarten," says Natalia Rvacheva, a resident of the village of Krivtsovo—Plota.
The Krivtsovo-Raft experience has already been recognized as successful by the Federation Council. This means that the new format of rural life may well become an All-Russian one.
Earlier, on May 17, the third All-Russian SAMBO competition for rural youth was held in the Orel region. The village of Kravtsovo-Raft bears the proud name "the birthplace of rural sambo". There is a monument dedicated to this sport at the entrance to it. Thanks to the VernoSelo project, aimed at reviving rural life, the village got a second wind — new residents began to move in. This year, teams from 24 regions of the country took part in the All-Russian rural competitions at the new stadium.
