SpaceX, owned by American entrepreneur Elon Musk, is investing $2 billion in startup xAI, which has developed a chatbot based on artificial intelligence Grok. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported this on July 13, citing investors.

According to the publication, the investment amounted to half of the recently increased capital of the Grok chatbot manufacturer.

In addition, one of the investors emphasized that xAI has already been able to raise $5 billion in debt. The project is expected to attract even more money by the end of 2025.

Earlier, on May 22, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth held a meeting at the Pentagon with the founder of SpaceX, where the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the army was discussed. Then he noted that the Pentagon plans to cooperate with the heads of companies developing AI systems to ensure the readiness of the American Armed Forces to the threats of the 21st century.
