- The head of the US FBI, Patel, denied rumors of resignation due to disagreements with the head of the Ministry of Justice.
The director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kash Patel, said that he was not going to resign, despite disagreements with the head of the country's Minister of Justice, Pam Bondi. He wrote about this on July 12 on the social network X.
"Conspiracy theories simply do not correspond to reality, they never were. It is a great honor for me to serve the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and I will continue to do so as long as he calls me," the message says.
The New York Times (NYT) newspaper reported that disagreements between the heads of departments occurred as a result of the discussion of the case of American financier Jeffrey Epstein. As a result of the conflict, Patel expressed a desire to either resign himself or ask for Bondi's dismissal.
Earlier, on July 7, the US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) found no evidence to support the theory of possible blackmail of influential people or the premeditated murder of Epstein.
