In the Trans-Baikal Territory, two children died in a sand pit
In the Trans-Baikal Territory, a 10-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl died on the territory of a former sand quarry near the village of Maleta in the Trans-Baikal Territory. This was announced on July 12 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU TFR) for the region in its Telegram channel.
"According to the investigation, four young children were playing without adult supervision on the territory of a former sand quarry. Due to the collapse of the ground, two children were buried and died," the message says.
The ministry noted that the establishment of medical examinations has begun to establish the causes of death of children.
Investigative actions are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy.
A criminal case was opened on this fact on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two persons").
Earlier, on July 11, a teenager drowned in a quarry in the Sverdlovsk region. The Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the incident.
