Representatives of King Charles III of Great Britain and Prince Harry held a meeting to discuss ways to restore relations in the royal family. This was reported by the Daily Mail newspaper, citing sources, on Saturday, July 12.

According to the source, the meeting between Meredith Maines, Prince Harry's chief public relations officer, and Tobin Andrea, the king's secretary, was the first attempt in a long period to establish communication between members of the royal family. The meeting took place in the building of the Royal Overseas League (ROSL), a London club that advocates international friendship. The patron of this club is King Charles.

"There is a long way ahead, but for the first time in many years, the communication channel is open. There was no official agenda, just informal gatherings over drinks. Both sides wanted to discuss some issues," the source said.

Earlier, in July 2024, it became known that Harry's friends said that Charles III had stopped answering his son's calls and letters, and the rift between them had become even stronger. Before that, they had seen each other in February after reports that the monarch had been diagnosed with cancer. According to friends, the prince regularly calls his father to find out about his health status, but he does not pick up the phone.
