Private Nesterov freed his comrades who were stuck under the rubble after an APU strike

Senior Guard Lieutenant Artur Dagaazhik, as commander of the howitzer artillery platoon, supervised the movement of the D-30 howitzer to the firing position. The Russian Ministry of Defense on Saturday, July 12, told about the exploits of Russian servicemen in the area of the special military operation (SVO).

When the gun was already delivered and the crew began preparing for work, Dagaazhik noticed a heavy Baba Yaga drone in the sky, which was approaching the firing position. The senior lieutenant warned his comrades about the threat and immediately opened fire on the drone with standard-issue weapons. The drone detonated in the air without causing damage to the howitzer and personnel. Dagaazhik gave the order to change the position, and the calculation continued its work.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the courage and dedication of Private Vitaly Nesterov, who led the support group and heard cries for help during the next departure with a load of ammunition and food.

Nesterov followed the screams and found the destroyed building. It turned out that as a result of the artillery strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on this building, several Russian servicemen were blocked under the rubble. Nesterov dismantled the rubble and helped the victims to get out, provided first aid and contacted the evacuation group, indicating the coordinates of their location.

Then the soldier continued to carry out his task, and a mortar shell exploded nearby. Nesterov received a shrapnel wound in his left forearm, but managed to provide himself with first aid on his own and continued along the route. As a result, ammunition and food were delivered to their destination.
