Russian fighter Shlemenko knocked out Spaniard Cadena at a tournament in Omsk
Russian mixed martial artist Alexander Shlemenko defeated Spaniard Guillermo Cadena at the SFC 11 tournament in Omsk. The fight took place on July 12.
The athletes competed in the middleweight division (up to 84 kg). The Russian won in the first round after a technical knockout of his opponent. According to Sport-Express, Shlemenko entered the octagon with a broken arm.
The Russian fighter has 67 wins, 16 losses and one draw in his record, and one more fight was declared invalid. The 33-year-old Kadena suffered the 25th defeat of his career, with 37 wins to his credit.
Ilia Topuria, a Spanish fighter of Georgian origin, knocked out Brazilian Charles Oliveira on June 29 and became the champion of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight at the 317th league tournament in Las Vegas. The lightweight belt became vacant after Russian fighter Islam Makhachev moved up to welterweight.
