The number of victims of the collapse of a pedestrian bridge in the Vologda region has increased to eight, including one child. This was announced on July 12 by the head of the Nikolsky municipal district Dmitry Mishenev.

"Unfortunately, eight people were injured, including one child. All the victims are promptly provided with medical assistance," he wrote on his page on the VKontakte social network.

According to him, there were 25 people on the bridge at the time of the collapse. The causes of the collapse are being investigated.

The collapse of the pedestrian bridge occurred earlier in the day. The incident occurred during a religious procession.
