Electricity was cut off in Melitopol, Berdyansk and four districts of the Zaporizhia region due to critical equipment overload. This was announced on July 12 by the governor of the region Evgeny Balitsky.
"Due to the high ambient temperature, critical equipment overloads have occurred in the power supply system of the Zaporizhia region. In order to maintain the stable functioning of the network, work is underway to transfer loads," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
It is noted that the forced outages affected some consumers in Melitopol, Berdyansk, Vasilyevsky, Tokmak, Kuibyshevsky, Kamensk-Dneprovsky municipal districts. In addition, water supply was restricted in Berdyansk, Melitopol, Vasilyevsky, Tokmak and Kuibyshev districts until the situation with energy supply stabilized.
"Power engineering teams are carrying out restoration work. Specialists are working in an enhanced mode," Balitsky added.
More than 14 thousand people were left without electricity on July 10 due to a thunderstorm in the Novgorod region. It is noted that 51 high-voltage power transmission lines have been disconnected, 388 settlements remain without electricity.
