Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced Tehran's readiness to return to the negotiating table on a nuclear deal with the United States. This was reported by the ISNA news agency on July 12.

"Iran is still interested in diplomacy, but we have good reason to doubt the possibility of further dialogue. If there is a desire to resolve this issue peacefully, the United States must demonstrate its sincere readiness for an equal agreement," Araqchi stressed.

The minister recalled that in 2015, Iran signed a comprehensive nuclear agreement with six countries, including the United States, which Washington unilaterally terminated three years later. He also said that the US strikes on the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities had undermined the progress made in the negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

On July 7, US President Donald Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff said that talks between the US and Iran could take place next week. Trump noted that the Iranian authorities offered the United States to sit down at the negotiating table after the American bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities.
