A woman died on the Volga River in the Samara region when a screw tugboat equipped with a makeshift houseboat capsized. This was announced on July 12 by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

"At 14:40 (local time, corresponds to 13:40 Moscow time. — Ed.), a message was received about the capsizing of a makeshift houseboat in the Krasnoglinsky district of the Samara city district," the department's Telegram channel said.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations said that there were six people on the converted tugboat. Five of them were saved, but a 34-year-old woman died. The causes of the capsizing of the vessel are being established, operational services are working at the scene.

On June 29, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, one person was killed and two more were injured when a small-size Sever-650 airboat capsized on the Kan River. After the incident, a case was opened under the article on violation of the rules of operation of water transport, which resulted in the death of a person.
