Dashcam captured the moment a car hit a group of pedestrians in Moscow

Footage of a hit-and-run at a pedestrian crossing in Moscow was captured by a DVR camera. The video was posted on July 12 by the city prosecutor's office in the Telegram channel.

The footage shows how the 23-year-old driver overtakes cars and does not stop when pedestrians cross the road in the right place. The prosecutor's office indicated that they were monitoring the investigation of the criminal case.

The incident occurred on July 11 at 21:40 on Berezhkovskaya embankment. After committing an illegal act, the person involved fled the scene. As a result, five people were injured, two of them children. On the same day, the 23-year-old driver was detained. The young man refused to undergo a medical examination for intoxication.

Later, on July 12, the attacker was charged. It was reported that the defendant faces up to seven years in prison. In the near future, the court will decide on the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention.
