Putin expressed hope for continued direct contacts with Kim Jong-un.
Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed a message to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un with the hope of continuing direct contacts in the near future. This was announced on July 12 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov following a meeting with the head of the DPRK.
"President [of Russia Vladimir Putin] sends his warmest greetings <...> and looks forward to continuing direct contacts with you in the very near future," the minister said.
Lavrov added that Putin in his message confirmed his commitment to all the agreements that had been reached between Russia and the DPRK.
Earlier in the day, during a meeting with Kim Jong-un, Lavrov spoke about the results of talks with his Korean counterpart Choi Song-hee in Wonsan. The Russian Foreign Minister also thanked the DPRK leader for the opportunity to meet and noted that this encourages the development of the agreements reached on strategic partnership.
