The head of the Anti-corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was arrested in Omsk in a case of bribery.

A criminal case was opened in Omsk on the fact of receiving a bribe by a police officer. This was announced on July 12 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU IC RF) for the region on its website.

"A criminal case has been opened against the head of one of the departments of the Economic security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Omsk region, suspected of taking a particularly large bribe through an intermediary (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code), and an entrepreneur suspected of mediating in bribing an official (Part 4 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code).", — the message says.

It is specified that the policeman in the car received 200 thousand rubles from the intermediary — part of the agreed amount of 1 million 200 thousand rubles for patronage of illegal gambling activities. According to the press service of the department, employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the region detained a law enforcement officer and an intermediary after transferring a sum of money.

According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Omsk region, the policeman is in custody, while the mediator is under house arrest with a ban on certain actions. At the moment, the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.

It was clarified that the attackers ensured that cars parked in violation of traffic regulations were placed in pre-determined parking lots, for which they received bribes.
