Applications for participation in the international Composer Competition have been accepted in Moscow. This was announced by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina, specifying that such a competition is being held in the capital for the first time.

The contest will be dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Soviet counteroffensive in the Battle for Moscow. "Works can be submitted by both well—known and aspiring composers from Russia and other countries," Sergunina said.

The main part of the competition will be held in 2026. The winners will receive cash prizes, as well as the opportunity to record and publish their work in digital format.

The participants will compete in two categories. Works for academic large choir and symphony orchestra will be evaluated in the "Large Form", and works for mixed academic choir a cappella will be evaluated in the "Small form".

The jury, which will select the laureates, will include famous cultural figures. The commission will be headed by choral conductor, People's Artist of the USSR Vladimir Minin.

You can apply for participation in the competition until June 20, 2026. The laureates will be awarded in December 2026 on the stage of the Zaryadye Concert Hall. The total prize fund of the contest exceeds 10 million rubles.
