Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated the workers and veterans of the capital's transport complex on their professional holiday.

"Moscow transport is about professionalism. Every day, more than 200,000 specialists provide comfortable, fast and safe trips for millions of Muscovites and guests of the capital," the mayor wrote on his Telegram channel.

Sobyanin also pointed out that world-class projects are being implemented in the capital's transport sector. "Over the past 15 years, we have formed a new rail framework for the capital, radically updated the rolling stock of the metro and surface urban transport, and launched the world's only year—round electric vessel routes," he recalled.

In addition, as the mayor pointed out, it was possible to create a "civilized taxi market and the largest carsharing fleet" in the capital. They also managed to clean up the parking lot and introduce "a lot of smart services for passengers"

According to the mayor, Moscow transport is a driver of the city's development, a new life begins where "the metro and highways come." "Vivid examples of this are the BCL, MCC, MCD, and MSD projects, which have given a powerful impetus to the renovation of many urban areas," Sobyanin stressed.

In June, the mayor announced that 500 km of dedicated lanes were already operating in Moscow, and about 40 km more were planned to be introduced by the end of 2026. Thanks to the allocation, the speed of urban transport has increased 2-4 times, and the travel time for passengers has been reduced, Sobyanin noted. "It was and remains important for us to provide passengers with the opportunity to quickly and comfortably get by public transport to their place of work, accommodation, and recreation," Sobyanin said.
