- The German general named the time frame for Ukraine to receive new long-range systems.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive new long-range systems from Germany at the end of July. This was announced on July 11 by the head of the working group on the coordination of assistance to Kiev at the German Ministry of Defense, Major General Christian Freudding, on the ZDF channel on YouTube.
The soldier said that earlier that day in Kiev, an agreement was signed between representatives of the Ukrainian industry and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The agreement is funded by Germany.
"We launched this initiative at the end of May, and as a result of this initiative, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive the first long—range weapons systems at the end of this month," he said.
Freudding did not specify the exact scale of the assistance provided, but said that the number of systems "is expressed in three digits."
On the same day, the relevant committee of the U.S. Senate approved military aid to Ukraine for $ 500 million.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on July 10 that the United States is negotiating with its NATO allies to transfer additional Patriot complexes to Ukraine. According to him, such complexes could be provided, for example, by Germany and Spain.
