According to the expert, one of the deciding factors is whether your dog belongs to a small or large breed. If decorative pets can live comfortably enough in a one-room apartment, it can be difficult for a large individual in any urban space.

If your pet is energetic, then you should ensure that there are enough parks and dog playgrounds in the area where you can comfortably walk with him for a long time.

Golubev also added that if a dog does not tolerate loneliness well and likes to raise his voice without provocation, it is worth correcting problematic behavior in advance, especially if your new house has thin walls.

"In the case of a country house, everything is much simpler, which cannot be said about an apartment. That is why small and unpretentious dog breeds are much more popular in cities," he concluded.
