The U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee has approved the allocation of $500 million in security assistance to Ukraine. This is stated in the draft National Defense Act for fiscal year 2026 (NDAA).

"Adopted by the Senate Armed Services Committee on July 9, 2025, it includes a provision extending the Initiative to Promote Ukraine's Security until 2028, increasing funding to $500 million from $300 million," the Reuters news agency said.

The document emphasizes that one of the tasks of the United States remains to help Ukraine "ensure a credible defense and deterrence potential," as well as to develop military cooperation to create armed forces capable of "defending the country and deterring aggression in the future."

In addition, the bill obliges U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to continue providing Ukraine with intelligence support, including data, analysis, and satellite imagery.

On July 8, Trump announced the transfer of some defensive weapons to Ukraine. He stressed that he had independently approved the supply of weapons to Kiev.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on July 10 that the United States is negotiating with its NATO allies to transfer additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. According to him, such complexes could be provided, for example, by Germany and Spain.
