The North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) can transfer American weapons systems located in Europe to Ukraine, and then replenish its reserves through purchases from the United States. This was stated on July 11 by United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Kuala Lumpur at an event of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

According to the head of the State Department, NATO member countries have certain weapons systems that Ukraine needs. Rubio stressed that such countries include Italy, Germany, which has 13 or 14 Patriot air defense systems, as well as other countries.

In addition, the Secretary of State noted that some weapons systems that Ukraine needs are not manufactured in Europe.

"Ultimately, some of the systems that Ukraine needs are those that are not manufactured in Europe. They will have to be purchased from the United States," Rubio said, the meeting was broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Asian News International (ANI) agency.

The day before, the Axios portal reported that US President Donald Trump plans to sell weapons to NATO member countries so that they can supply them to Ukraine. The portal emphasized that the decision of the American leader should not be equated with the intention of the United States to arm the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
