Football club (FC) Orenburg addressed the fans on July 11 after returning to the Russian Premier League (RPL).

"Dear fans, we really missed you! We have prepared a lot of bright and interesting things for the upcoming season, and we look forward to seeing you!" the club wrote on its Telegram channel.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Moscow football club Torpedo, after being excluded from the RPL, will compete in the First League in the 2025/26 season. Orenburg will take his place in the RPL.

On May 17, Orenburg lost to Krasnodar with a score of 1:2 in the match of the 29th round of the Russian Premier League and left the top division. Striker John Cordoba and defender Lucas Olasa scored goals for the winning team. The only goal of the Orenburg team was scored by forward Brian Mansilla.
