The UAE has extradited two defendants to Russia in the case of fraud and bribery
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has handed over to Russia two defendants who were put on the international wanted list in a case of fraud and bribery. This was announced on July 11 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk.
"Today at Dubai airport, representatives of the competent authorities of the United Arab Emirates handed over two Russians who were on the international wanted list through Interpol channels to the staff of the INTERPOL National Security Council of the Russian Interior Ministry," Volk said, as quoted by TASS.
It is specified that one of them is accused of fraud. According to the investigation, the defendant and his accomplices generated QR codes to pay for purchases and canceled the operation after receiving money into their accounts. Thus, they stole 267 million rubles.
The second attacker is accused of attempted bribery. It is noted that the defendant acted in the interests of one of the commercial organizations of the Altai Territory. He transferred a bribe worth more than 37.3 million rubles to a certain official through an intermediary.
Both attackers escaped from law enforcement agencies abroad, but were later detained.
On the same day, Indonesia, thanks to the involvement of Interpol, extradited Alexander Zverev, accused of trafficking in personal information of Russians contained in information and reference arrays and databases of Russian government agencies, to Russia. It was noted that in 2019, the attacker joined a criminal community that traded personal information of residents of the Russian Federation.
