The promise of US President Donald Trump to supply Ukraine with the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) in practice involves only the transfer of ammunition, not the systems themselves. The Norwegian edition of Steigan writes about this on July 11.

"You probably think: This is 10 full-fledged rocket launchers, a very impressive offer! But – incredible as it may sound — it seems that 10 missiles mean exactly 10 real interceptors, that is, ammunition," the publication says.

According to the author of the article, in this case, these missiles will be used up at the first attack. It is also noted that the cost of 10 Patriot air defense systems is $5 billion, with the allocated assistance of $ 300 million.

On July 8, Trump announced the transfer of some defensive weapons to Ukraine. He stressed that he had independently approved the supply of weapons to Kiev.

On July 10, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the United States was negotiating with its NATO allies to transfer additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. According to him, such complexes could be provided, for example, by Germany and Spain.
