Republican senators expressed concern about the inconsistency of actions between the White House and the Pentagon against the background of the latter's decision to suspend military assistance to Ukraine. This was reported on July 11 by The Hill, citing senators and their assistants.

"Republican Senators say that reports that the Secretary of Defense [of the United States] Pete Hegseth froze arms supplies to Ukraine without the approval of the President [of the United States Donald] This raises serious questions about the level of coordination between the White House and the Pentagon and requires more careful consideration of this issue by Congress," the publication says.

In their opinion, the arms freeze could be the result of a "misunderstanding" between Trump and Hegseth. Republicans also noted that they want to know who at the Pentagon was involved in the supply freeze. According to the publication, if the US Secretary of Defense tries to intentionally circumvent the head of state, then this will lead to a serious problem.

Earlier, on July 10, The Atlantic magazine, citing Ukrainian officials, reported that Ukraine does not rule out a new suspension of US military aid. The publication also urged to prepare for this moment. It clarifies that the suspension of aid has an impact on the replacement and repair of Ukrainian weapons.
