- The governor of the Belgorod region handed Putin a painting on a fragment of the lid of an air defense missile
On Friday, July 11, Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of the Belgorod Region, handed over to Russian President Vladimir Putin a painting made on a fragment of an air defense missile cover.
According to him, by now, air defense has become the norm of life for residents of the region. He noted that during the Great Patriotic War (WWII), many literary works, musical compositions, and paintings were created, and singled out the artist who is currently painting on the wreckage of the covers.
"When the rocket comes out, here they are (the covers. — Ed.) they fall off. And so, it has become such a symbol: on the one hand, it is something that protects us, and on the other hand, there is hope — not just hope — confidence in a near victory in the soul of each of us. Therefore, to be honest, I wanted to convey it from the bottom of my heart," Gladkov said.
The Russian president thanked the governor and asked him to convey his gratitude to the author of the painting.
"It's a good picture. "Belgorod is not giving up," Putin said after reading the inscription on the painting.
Earlier in the day, at a meeting with Putin in the Kremlin, Gladkov called the rehabilitation of the Russian military involved in the special operation one of the leading tasks for the Belgorod region. He noted that the local authorities also face the task of trying to employ returning military personnel based on the severity of their injuries.
