In the first quarter of 2025, about 18 thousand Indian tourists visited Moscow. This was announced on July 11 by Evgeny Kozlov, Chairman of the Moscow Committee on Tourism, at the OTOAI Convention.
He called India the second country in terms of the number of tourists arriving for Moscow.
"In the first quarter of this year alone <...> 18,000 Indian tourists came to Moscow," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The press service of Mostourism, in turn, clarified that this figure is almost 1.5 times more than in the same period last year.
Earlier, on May 30, Alexander Musikhin, Vice President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), said that inbound tourism to Russia could increase by 20% in the summer. He named China (65%), the Middle East (18%), Iran (8%) and India (4%) among the leaders. At the same time, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, the Caucasus and Kazan turned out to be the most in demand for foreign tourists.
