In the Moscow region, a man tried to beat a child with a bat
Investigators charged a resident of Vidnoye with inflicting multiple blows to a child's head with a bat. This was announced on July 11 by the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate (GSU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF) in the Moscow region.
"An investigator of the territorial investigation department of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region has charged a 31-year—old resident of Vidnoye with attempted murder of a child (paragraphs "b, d" of Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the publication says.
It is specified that the attacker struck the son of the roommate with a bat on the head with many blows. Due to his limited mobility, the man did not carry out his murderous intent. According to the press service of the department, the child's mother did not seek help from a medical institution and did not report anything to law enforcement agencies.
The incident became known from a video of the beating, which was posted on the Internet. Investigators conducted an inspection of the scene and seized a bat. During the interrogation, the defendant confessed to what he had done. Forensic medical, psychological and psychiatric forensic examinations have been appointed.
In addition, according to the agency, the three children with whom the man lived did not attend school. Currently, the minors have been sent to a medical facility for a health assessment.
Earlier, on June 27, a resident of Adygea, who beat her three-year-old daughter to death, was sentenced to 13 years. It was clarified that the girl's mother abandoned the child immediately after birth, but in March 2024, together with her husband, they decided to take her from an orphanage in Adygeysk.
