- The prosecutor requested 10 years for the ex-head of the service in the Ministry of Defense Timofeev.
The state prosecution asks to find Ilya Timofeev, the former head of the recycling service of the Main Armored Directorate (GABTU) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, guilty of accepting a bribe and to sentence him to 10 years in prison in a high-security penal colony. This was reported on July 11 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the hall of the Moscow garrison military Court.
The prosecutor also demands that he be fined 5.9 million rubles, stripped of the rank of colonel and the right to hold positions in the civil service for seven years.
According to investigators, Timofeev received a bribe from the Scientific and Production Enterprise Samaravzryvtechnologiya for patronage and signing the necessary papers. The company was engaged in demilitarization of decommissioned armored vehicles.
The investigation believes that the company had problems signing documents under contracts with the Ministry of Defense. Representatives of Samaravzryvtechnologiya offered Timofeev money for their solution. The bribe was transferred in two parts through the nephew of the colonel's wife. The total amount was 2.9 million rubles.
Timofeev does not admit guilt.
On July 7, Colonel-General Khalil Arslanov, accused of bribery and fraud, was sentenced to 17 years in a high-security penal colony. In addition, he was fined more than 24 million rubles, and he was stripped of his military rank. It was noted that Arslanov and his accomplices stole 1.6 billion rubles from the federal budget.
