- The band "Record Orchestra" performed the song "After the war" as part of the tribute band "Lube"
The Russian rock band Record Orchestra performed the musical composition "After the War" as part of the tribute album "Lube 35. It's starting all over again..."
The band members told us that they had learned about the band about "Lube" since the band's first album. According to guitarist Alexei Baryshev, the music of the debutants of the Soviet stage turned out to be fresh and unlike the usual variety. Initially, the members of the Record Orchestra wanted to perform one of the songs from this first album as a tribute. In particular, the musicians were thinking about the tracks "Cells" and "Dusya-aggregate", but they were already occupied by other performers.
"We began to study the missing, that certain layer of songs that was released by the Lube group. <...> Here is one song that stood out for its lyrical idea, namely the song based on the poems of Mikhail Andreev, "Time for Love after the War." <...> It seems to us that this song reflects as clearly as possible the current mood in society and the moods and views that exist in our team," said Timofey Kopylov, soloist of the Record Orchestra.
Lyube's lead singer Nikolai Rastorguev thanked the musicians for choosing the song and taking a serious approach to the process. The singer said that he really likes the track "After the War" with its good rhythm and brilliant arrangement. He also expressed gratitude to the author of the lyrics, Mikhail Andreev, calling him a "deep lyricist."
"The most important thing is that we decided for ourselves that the funds received from the recording of this song will go to help one Belgorod family, where mom has been successfully defeating cancer for a long time. And for that, many thanks to the Lube group, because, guys, this is your song, and it helped specific people," Kopylov said.
Earlier, singer and People's Artist of Russia Oleg Gazmanov performed the song "Don't be a Fool, America" as part of the same tribute album. The performer called Rastorguev's voice unique and "the true voice of Russia." That's why it's not easy to sing it.
Tribute to "Lube 35. It's starting again..." — reinterpretation of the band's songs by other musicians in their signature style. The idea to record such an album appeared more than a year ago, and more than 50 artists and bands of various generations and genres took part in the work on it.
