Rosemary contains a whole complex of valuable substances, including vitamins C, A and B, calcium, iron, manganese, folic acid, thiamine and riboflavin. The plant also contains camphor and eucalyptus oil, which makes it especially beneficial for health. Ekaterina Kosareva, Managing partner of the analytical agency VMT Consult, told Izvestia about this on July 11.

According to the expert, rosemary has a beneficial effect on the digestive system due to its fiber content. Japanese studies have confirmed its ability to improve concentration and memory. Vitamin A in the herb helps maintain eyesight and fight age-related eye changes. In some cases, under the supervision of a doctor, rosemary can be used by pregnant women to relieve symptoms of toxicosis. The diuretic effect of the plant helps to remove excess fluid from the body.

However, Kosareva warned that rosemary is not suitable for everyone. It should be used with caution by people suffering from epilepsy, as the active substances in its composition can stimulate brain activity and provoke seizures. Allergy sufferers are advised to first check the body's reaction to rosemary and related plants such as mint. Kidney diseases are also a contraindication due to the stimulating effect of the herb on their work.

Excessive consumption of rosemary can cause side effects, including nausea, headache, and sleep disturbances. Kosareva stressed that, like any medicinal plant, rosemary requires a reasonable approach to use and consultation with a specialist in the presence of chronic diseases. When used in moderation, this fragrant herb can be a valuable addition to the diet, supporting health and well-being.

On June 27, Svetlana Burnatskaya, a general practitioner and occupational therapist at JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg Clinic), spoke about proper nutrition in the heat. So, according to the doctor, salads with a little protein can be an ideal option for summer: eggs, fish, seafood or chicken.
